I went to this big shopping centre to get some extra clothes, writing stuff (because I am going to learn Chinese) and art for the kids. It is nice to have a day off between all the hectic.

Tuesday we finally set sail, mostly on our motors. It was a 8 hour sail to Ilè de Rue. The sail was nice, sunny with a little bit of wind and the kids were doing great. Too bad I felt sick in the evening and just spend my time in bed. The next day I slept some more and It did make me feel better. We had a small walk around town, with small streets and cute little white houses. It doesn’t seem like a touristic Island. More like people visiting for a day (sailers) and fishermen. After a seafood pasta on the boat it is time for bed, it is going to be an early sail on Thursday.

Waking up while they are sailing, is quite relaxing. It feels like a waterbed. The sea was more bumpier than the day before, so it is quite a challenge to keep an eye on yourself and the kids. Baby North is a hard one to keep entertained. After sailing seven hours, we arrived at the coast of Belle Isle, and the village of Le Palais. Like a lot of Islands here, it is small, not too busy, mostly tourists. A quick bite with mum and the kids for dinner and we set off for a small hike. We went to a small little beach, which we saw on the boat, climbed some rocks and played with the sand. Even when we where there for a short while, the kids had so much fun and it is nice to get off the boat after sailing. Next destination, not sure, a mystery every time.

Friday. A slow morning. We all ate some breakfast. Relaxed, I took care of keeping an eye on Baby North and keeping him entertained with food. The rest of the day was also slow.

When the kids were watching Moana, Christy spotted a group of dolphins! Before I started this journey, one thing that I really wanted to see were dolphins, so it is my lucky day. Slowly we approached them and the dolphins started surfing on the waves of the boat. It was a big group around the 20 to 30 animals consisting mostly, I believe, of females and a few babies. They were jumping, swimming and playing together. It was wonderful to see the dolphins in the wild with such a big group. It made me so happy. After a few minutes the dolphins decided to continue their journey to the south. A little while later we spotted three other dolphins, probably males, since they don’t swim with the females and often form small pacts. Time to see wave them off with a smile, they are my favorite animals after all.

The week ended relaxed and quietly, on anchor in a small bay.

[1

post-371","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-uncategorized
["GET
